The Australian Agency for Education & Training (AAET) was established
in 1998 to build relationships between Australia and the Middle East. Our primary objective
is to promote Australian education and training across all sectors. AAET is active in the
recruitment of international students to Australian Universities and educational institutions.
Over the last decade, AAET has established a strong reputation and built many important affiliations,
partnerships and strategic alliances throughout Australasia and the Middle East. The company is
based in Melbourne, Australia and has offices throughout the Middle East.
Our aim is to facilitate closer ties between Australia and the Middle East in order
to maximize the exchange of intellect and expertise and to
promote greater cultural, academic and commercial interaction.

Over the years, Mr Jabbour has facilitated high-level relationships between Australia and the
Arab world in the education, government and economic sectors. This contribution has been
recognized at the state and national level. His public awards include the Australian Medal
for the centenary of federation of Australia for service to the Australian Community,
nomination for Australian of the Year 2004.
Roland Jabbour is an integral member of the national bodies committed to fostering greater
understanding of the Australian Arabic community and to strengthening Australian-Arab relations.
In this capacity, he is widely consulted on Australian and international politics and contributes
to the media on a range of issues including Middle Eastern politics, international relations,
media and multiculturalism.
Mr. Omid Honari : Director, Operations
Omid holds a Bachelor of Communication as well as Postgraduate qualifications in Communications/Arts with major studies in media/economic strategy. He joined AAET in 2004, prior to which he worked as a media producer, with experience in academic research and project development. He produced a
documentary series, ‘Iranian Communities of Australia’, for Iranian television, which was ranked the Network’s highest rating non-drama series of late-2003. His role of as Director, Operations, allows him to draw on experience and expertise in communication, Australian education and Middle
Eastern markets; and positions him as a key client liaison between scholarship providers and universities and institutions.
Dr Kylie Baxter: Director, Business Development
Kylie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Jewish and Islamic Studies and a PhD. in Political Science
from Monash University. She joins AAET from the University sector with business development and
teaching experience in Middle Eastern politics from a range of Australian institutions. Kylie has
published internationally on matters related to Islam and Muslim communities, with publications on
Islamic politics in the West and US foreign policy in the Middle East. Kylie's role at AAET is
focused on maintaining existing links and developing new relationships with Australian Universities
and international clients.
